EQUIPPING RESEARCH AND EDUCATION TO BETTER DEAL WITH CYBER RISKS

By 2026, the protection of Luxembourg’s research and education institutions against cybersecurity risks will be greatly improved. A key milestone will be to bring a security event management platform dedicated to those institutions into service. This ambition is made possible thanks to the European project LuCySe4RE - “Enhancing Cybersecurity Services for the Luxembourgish Research and Education community”, launched in September 2023, co-funded by the European Union’s Digital Europe programme (DIGITAL) and supported by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre. PAVING THE WAY TO A SAFER AND EASIER AUTHENTICATION TO ENTERPRISE NETWORKS

Thanks to their experiences within eduroam, Restena and DFN have co-authored a standardisation proposal to allow the development of a new authentication method to enterprise networks. The proposal, combining EAP and FIDO 2 standards, has been presented to experts in authentication protocols during IETF 118. Read more

A LONG CAREER FOR .LU AND DNS

At the end of October 2023, and after almost 24 years at the Restena secretariat, Laurence Battani retired. Her career and commitment have been an integral part of the history of Restena, especially when talking about activities of the registry for domain names with the national extension .lu and its registrar for .lu domain names.
